Raised in the Valley of the Heart’s Delight, San Jose, California, Heidi was treated to the best of healthy living right from the start. Her family was conscious of the importance of proper food and sunshine in the 70’s, so a healthy body was always part of her life’s pursuit. Following along as her mother sought out natural healers in the Bay Area, Heidi was exposed to Chinese herbs and treatments, chiropractic manipulations, naturopathic remedies, juicing, fasting, exercises, positive thinking, and uplifting atmospheres as the means to enjoying a healthy body. Heidi continues to pursue this lifestyle today, and now works to share what she’s learned through Healthy Body Massage Therapy. (And, by the way, her mother looks young enough to be her sister!)
Heidi has worked for 8 years as a Chiropractic Assistant, with certification from the Palmer College of Chiropractic and the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Her career as a C.A. led her to study at the Ashland Institute of Massage where she drank in a vast education featuring massage styles from around the world. After graduation she spent the past 3 years working with local chiropractors (Dr. James Said, Dr. Jared Nielson, and Dr. Jared Dance) in the areas of auto injury therapy, deep tissue work, and pelvic stabilization. As a Massage Therapist she’s had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of cases under expert supervision. With the grand opening of Healthy Body Massage, Heidi says, “I will use a full spectrum of massage therapies, backed by rigorous understanding of kinesiology, to increase relaxation and encourage healing.”
Heidi is a fully licensed massage therapist, licensed by the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists and the State of Oregon. She is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and is an ABMP Certified Massage Therapist.
