The Perfect Getaway

Something For Everyone

Southern Oregon is its own natural playground. There's so much beauty to behold in the various trees, plants, and wildlife all around. And there's so much to experience in this community that's been planted in the center of it all.

Whether you're searching for adventure or seeking a more relaxing experience, here are some reasons why Grants Pass might be your perfect getaway.

#1: River Adventure

Rogue River

The Rogue River runs through the heart of Grants Pass. Its beauty has been praised and featured in various films and novels. Some of which include Zane Grey's "Rogue River Feud," "Shooting the Rogue" and "Tales of Freshwater Fishing" novels in the '20s, the 1975 western Rooster Cogburn, and the 1994 film River Wild.

You can experience its beauty for yourself, either with a guided tour or on your own. Check out our Outdoor Adventures page for an extensive list of resources. Grants Pass offers many guided outfitters.

#2: Wine Country

Wooldridge Creek Winery

Our area is home to the Applegate Wine Trail, which is a stretch of land that includes 19 wineries. There are also a variety of taprooms and breweries that you can check out right in town. Check out our lists of wineries and breweries in the area.

#3: Shopping & Dining

Downtown Stroll

Grants Pass is home to so many great shops and restaurants. Many are located in our Historic Downtown, where you and your friends and family can walk from one place to the next while taking in the beauty of the town. Check out our lists of shops and restaurants.

Grants Pass offers art & entertainment options to suit any taste. Each First Friday of the month, downtown retailers, galleries and restaurants host special receptions showcasing the work of local and regional artists. Visit in October and experience Art Along the Rogue, the premier street painting festival in the Northwest. There are various other options throughout the year as well. #5: Location

GP Base Camp

In addition to being located right on the Rogue River and surrounded by beautiful mountains, Grants Pass is also a short distance from many natural wonders and attractions. Just 42 miles from the Oregon Caves, 44 miles from The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, 68 miles from The Redwoods, 80 miles from Crater Lake, and 82 miles from the Coast, Grants Pass is a great spot to "set up camp" and explore.
